While small and medium-scale farms continue to decline in number nationally, rural areas often see a glut of market products with a limited number of retail spaces. This presentation distills lessons in social media and community networking to provide a competitive edge for Farmer Veterans. Information on building a brand that connects with consumers, strategic communication planning, working with social media, and making meaningful community connections are included. Successful and less successful examples will be used to engage and inspire discussion in and beyond the presentation. Participants will have access to online materials to help them work through these communication strategies post-conference.
